Summer Activities for Homeowners

One of the most exciting things about being a homeowner – especially in the summer – is the opportunity to entertain guests in the privacy of your own home. There are plenty of ways you can enjoy these two luxuries at the same time. I have complied a list of fun summer activities that you can enjoy with friends and family in the comfort of your own home!

Squeaky Clean:

Throw a neighborhood car wash! I know what you’re thinking, how is work fun? This is a wonderful way to make new friends with the families that live around your street, as well as keeping cool. With a little planning, you could make a whole day out of it – create and hang signs, set up a snacks and drinks table, as well as putting up speakers to have music playing. While the kids run around squirting each other with the hoses, you’ll have shiny, squeaky-clean car!

Cookouts:

Summertime is one of the best times to host an old-fashioned backyard barbecue. It’s an awesome combination of enjoying great people, listening to fun music, enjoying tasty food, and of course plenty of sunshine. If you haven’t had a house warming party yet, this is a great excuse to do both! Invite your friends and family over for fun in the sun and a tour of your house!

Backyard Fun:

An awesome way to enjoy the sunshine in your backyard, without spending a ton of money is playing homemade yard games. Adults and kids alike will be thrilled to see that you’ve set up a game of croquet, horseshoes, corn hole, boccie ball, or badminton. It’ll be fun for everyone. Check out Pinterest for a plethora of DIY projects!

Guess Who:

Throw a mystery dinner party, and invite your guests for an evening of fun and intrigue; (and to show off that dining room!) Kits can be purchased at your local Walmart (or via the Internet) for a reasonable price. You will have a wonderful evening full of suspense and excitement that will be memorable for everyone!

Camp Out:

What could be more fun than having a backyard camp out with all your friends! Dig out the flashlights, tents, and camping gear out of the garage and don’t forget to grab the paper lanterns. Spend your night playing camping games, telling ghost stories, roasting marshmallows and sleeping under the stars.
